A very special edition of our beloved Stardust Bear, created by Sayeh in Istanbul alongside a master mother-of-pearl artisan.

The original design was sketched and hand-carved by Sayeh directly from natural mother-of-pearl inside the artisan’s Istanbul workshop. From cutting the shell to the painstaking process of carving, shaping, inlaying and polishing, every step was done using traditional techniques Sayeh had the opportunity to learn firsthand.

Each bear is carved from thick, luminous natural mother-of-pearl sourced from the pristine South Sea waters of the Philippines, where some of the world’s most prized pearls are cultivated. Each piece of shell has its own depth, luster and completely unique iridescence. Sparkling crystal eyes are set into the shell, while a contrasting black mother-of-pearl heart is individually cut and inlaid by hand. No two bears will ever reflect the light in quite the same way.

Stardust Bear has always been a reminder to hold onto the parts of ourselves we are so often told to outgrow — play, curiosity, imagination and wonder. This Mother of Pearl edition brings that idea to life as a tiny piece of wearable art, created through curiosity, craftsmanship and a love of making something simply because it feels magical.

Only three Mother of Pearl Stardust Bears were made, handcrafted in Istanbul from Sayeh’s original design.
